Mei Ohara “To Nonexist” Music Video

December 2017

The video for “To Nonexist” made it to the 2017 Emerging Artist Music Video Showcase Honorable Mentions List on Fringe Music Fix!

March 2017

This project was filmed on a Sony PXW-FS7, and it was incredibly fun. In addition to handling low light extremely well, producing clean images even at a relatively High ISO, we were able to film everything at 180fps in standard HD. Having smooth slow motion was actually critical to the production of the video, as it was a strong visual reflection of the emotions conveyed by the song.

For lighting I used 3 ikan IB508-v2 Bi-Color LED Panels, fitted 3 different colored gels. While the hair light was operating off battery power, the key and fill panels were both run on AC power, and there was no noticeable flickering even at high shutter speeds. While much of the footage was shot using a shutter speed of 1/160th of a second, some of the brighter footage was actually shot at 1/240th!
